| Since Cyber has a thread like this, I thought I might as well have one too. Everything I post here will most likely be tutorial driven, but who knows, I may have a decent idea...you never know. Anyways this first one is my first time using Cycles Render. | |

| Interesting. Can I see your node setup for the crystals? | |

| Thanks. Hmmm. I've never done anything with the Light Path node. Maybe I should fool around with it.
BTW could those crystals be used in the cave in the demo? | |

| yeah, that would be fine. I don't know what the cave is supposed to look like or anything. Has it been discussed? | |

| Not too much :-\ I suppose I or hopefully someone who is actually good at level design should figure that out soon. For the moment we should focus on the outside area, though | |

| Haha, yeah the outside would be a good start. I would work on concept images for stuff buy im absolute schizophrenia when it comes to drawing im afraid.

| Kinda sucks that I can't use adult language on here :p FREEDOM OF SPEECH. But anyways, I suck at drawing. That's what i meant to say in the post above. | |

| XD Freedom of speech doesn't work like that on the internet; I've learned that the hard way The language filters were put in place when there were younger users on the site. I'm going to keep the harshest words filtered out but there isn't a huge need for most of them any more. | |

| Isn't really 3d, but its a step in the right direction I think. Practicing hand painted textures. I did it with a mouse because my tablet is messing up. Don't have the money to buy a new one right now. | |

| That tiles well. There is a bit where a really bright patch makes the tiling obvious, but other than that it looks nice. | |

| Trying to help a buddy get started in 3d modeling and I gave him a little project to do. I did it too so I would know what I'm talking about when he asks me questions. Its a simple bottle, but i learned how to do some transparency with regular diffuse materials while I was playing around. fun stuff! | |

| And the character is done. Such a great learning experience! He is like 3400 triangles. | |

| Pissed off so I decided I would model a bit for low poly practice. This is a Frankenstein monster type deal and I'm not using a tutorial or anything, just relying on what I know to see what level I can produce characters at right now. This is with like an hour and a half of work, made some mistakes with the mood I was in. It's at 540 tris right now and I need to move some vertices around, but that will come once I have the hands and feet made and connected. I plan on texturing, rigging, and animating this guy. | |

| Thanks. I'm not that happy with it yet but I still need a head on there and then I can move some vertices around and make it a little more to my liking. Low poly hands look disgusting but there's not really much you can do about it I guess. I'm getting close to my polygon limit of 1500 tris, so I need the head to be as detailed as I can get it without blowing my limit. I need a break before I try to tackle that, so I'll upload the last progress picture of the blockout later tonight. Looks like I'm at 1160 tris. I'll see what I can do. Hands and feet with some vert moving took about an hour and a half again, so I am 3 hours in this build. | |

| Didn't get around to starting the head like I wanted to last night. Made a glass of scotch and fell asleep watching a movie. Anyways, heres a very early stage of the head. Used a plane to get the shape, and then added more geometry and moved vertices around to get the rough details blocked in. | |

| Looking nice so far. Why is the limit 1500 tris? That's not very many. | |
