Last year I attempted National Novel Writing Month but wasn't able to finish due to starting on the 15th. This time I started on the 1st and hopefully will finish my story by the end of the month.
Downside is I'm pretty much going to be inactive on here until then. Sorry!
Oh, and if you could read my story and comment, that'd be great. Please note I didn't write it in my normal style so it most likely is going to sound weird.
Summary thing I had to do for the competition: Man has made leaps and bounds in the many sciences, but still it takes people to fight a war. Part One tells of a farmer named Jack is pulled from his home world and forced to fight on a foreign planet against men he has no quarrel with. The remainder of the story from Jack’s escape onwards chronicles his struggle to survive against the trials of the cold hatred that is the life of an outcast, and his struggle to maintain his own humanity it a world where greed and cruelty is the key to survival.
Written in a style reminiscent of Hemingway, the reader will be pulled through the vastness of the galaxy following Jack on his sorrowful journey, from the humble farm where he was born and raised to and underground prison reeking of abandonment and betrayal, to the apathetic void that is space itself.
Will Jack ever find peace and hope again, or will he give in to the horrors created by humanity and in doing so cease to be human himself?
