| Howdy all, Kanga asked me on another gaming site if I could come work on some models for you guys. I'm a self-trained 3D artist with roughly three years of experience making buildings and terrains and the like. I do a lot of work rendering out assets for 2D games and usage on webpages and such (see some render work below). In my spare time, I also compose music (which I actually consider my forte), and have done a little of everything from graphic design to game creation to machinima, so I have a lot of general knowledge in all sorts of creative tasks. I work with some rather simple 3D programs, my main being called iClone, which is a real-time program specializing in quick and easy animation. For modelling, I use the ever-popular free version of Google Sketchup. I should note that to bring a fully finished project out of iClone is a rather long and often troublesome task, as it uses a proprietary model format, so I generally like to stick with 2D renders, although I can provide 3D .objs, though they often need some touching up in blender to get the textures on right. A roman city-house model I created as a project. A neat effect achieved using several programs. | |

| Hi Samulis! I must admit I'm not the best judge of 3D models, but I'm glad to have you with us if you can put up with us ;P
I believe Kanga mentioned you would be willing to work for "free" if you were able to sell your models on your site? I for one would be fine with that.
Welcome aboard! | |

| Glad to be here... certainly one of the better and more focused projects I have had the privilege of working on. | |

| Thanks for the compliment. What is it that makes us seem "better and more focused?" I'm curious to how we seem to random people who come on the site. | |

| most projects have one key person who tries to pull everything along, and are generally comprised of gamers with a big view and little skill or practical knowledge. You have a good number of capable modellers and artists. | |

| Welcome Samulis! This site has few dedicated people, and I hope you find your way into this group. We have a new worker, and a balanced one at that! I'm planning on learning a graphic design program over the summer, haven't decided on 2D or 3D yet. Your know-how will be greatly appreciated. | |

| Thanks. I do not have a big wallet... so anything free/cheap (less than $40) will work. I might learn blender... | |

| Try Anim8or first, Max. I think development is halted, but it's still a great modeler to cut your eyeteeth on. | |
